AboutUs
Dedicated to advancing the scientific understanding of Fucoidan through rigorous research analysis and global collaboration.
Our Mission
The Fucoidan Research Institute is an independent scientific organization dedicated to advancing the understanding of Fucoidan through the collection, evaluation, and dissemination of peer-reviewed research.
Our mission is to translate complex scientific discoveries into practical, evidence-based insights that support clinicians, researchers, and patients worldwide in applying Fucoidan’s bioactive potential.
Who We Are
Founded by Dr. Susana Trujillo, the Fucoidan Research Institute was established to consolidate the growing body of scientific evidence surrounding Fucoidan.
Drawing from peer-reviewed journals, molecular biology publications, and insights from leading researchers and industry experts, the Institute has developed a comprehensive research library that references more than 2,500 scientific studies, serving as a trusted resource for evidence-based knowledge on Fucoidan.
Its research focuses on the high-molecular-weight polysaccharide known as Fucoidan present in brown seaweeds such as Mozuku (Cladosiphon okamuranus), Mekabu (Undaria pinnatifida), and Bladderwreck (Fucus vesiculosus).
Focus on Cancer Research
As per clinical references from PubMed and other authoritative sources, Fucoidan has demonstrated significant potential in supportive oncology. Research indicates its role in inducing apoptosis (programmed cell death) in various cancer cell lines without affecting healthy cells.
We envision a future where integrative oncology and metabolic therapies fully utilize the potential of marine bioactive compounds to improve patient outcomes globally.
